Berkeley picks Kwame for city complex

Kwame Building Group has been selected by the city of Berkeley as construction manager for the new Berkeley Municipal Complex. The company is overseeing design and construction of a new city hall and fire station, as well as renovation of the existing police station. A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for spring 2010.

Construction will begin simultaneously on the two-story, 29,500-square-foot city hall and the 17,200-square-foot fire station. Design and construction for the police station are scheduled to follow the city hall and fire station buildings. The first phase of the municipal complex project will be completed in the spring of 2011.

The architect for the complex is ArchImages.
