Kwame Tourney Boosts Minority Students

Kwame Foundation will host its Seventh Annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, August 26 at the Norman K. Probstein golf course at Forest Park. The KWAME Foundation endows approximately $150,000 a year in scholarships and grants at universities that improve educational opportunities for minorities.

"Our goal is to ensure a strong minority presence in the future workforce by helping minority students achieve their higher educational goals," said Tony Thompson, president and CEO of KWAME.

Registration and lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. with the shotgun start of the four-person scramble at 1:00 p.m. The cocktail reception and happy hour will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the awards ceremony and auction will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Sponsorships opportunities from $150 to $10,000 are available, with recognition at the event, on the website and in the program. Individual entry for the tournament, lunch and events is $375 and non-golfer participation is $75.

Last year, the Kwame Foundation Golf Tournament netted more than $65,000 for scholarship endowments at the following colleges and universities:
• Maryville University
• University of Kansas
• Jackson State University
• University of Missouri - Columbia's School of Law
• University of Missouri - St. Louis
