Donation benefits Crisis Nursery's emergency fund

The Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation recently donated $7,500 to St. Charles Crisis Nursery for the agency's Family Emergency Fund, which helps families in crisis obtain basic necessities.

Donations can help prevent homelessness, child abuse and neglect by covering a utility bill, making a down payment on an apartment, and buying prescriptions, food, diapers and other family necessities.

The St. Charles Crisis Nursery, committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect, is an independent, not-for-profit agency that provides a short-term, safe haven for children, birth through age 12, whose families are faced with an emergency or crisis.

Crisis Nursery has three locations in St. Charles County and serves 3,000 children a year, providing 24-hour care 365 days a year.

The St. Charles Crisis Nursery 24-hour help line is 636-947-0600.

For more information, call 636-947-0610 or visit www.crisisnurserykids.org.
