Upcoming St. Louis Crisis Nursery’s Razzle Dazzle Ball has a French theme with decor to match
TOUT DE SUITE: The upcoming St. Louis Crisis Nursery’s Razzle Dazzle Ball is using Paris as its theme and the Versailles Ballroom at the Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet as its venue.
The ball, which begins with a VIP reception at 5:45 p.m. on March 27, will feature all things French. Eiffel Towers — yes, plural, this is a fantasy after all — will gleam around the room as boulevards and streets are created for guests to stroll around. The ever-popular Champagne & Diamond Extravaganza will feature the raffle of a one-carat diamond.
Guests will also be treated to Pearl Vodka French Kiss-tinis and the sight of a local artist painting a Parisian street scene. The painting will end up being part of the evening’s live auction, which will feature a week’s stay at an apartment in Paris steps away from Notre Dame Cathedral and a three-night stay at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.
Other than that, there’s the gourmet meal, the music by Mystic Voyage and the Tiffany & Co.-created awards that will be given to: Beth Paynter Engler, Woman of the Year; Dr. David Campbell, Man of the Year; Daughters of Charity, Foundation of the Year; and Hardee’s Food Systems, Inc., Distinguished Corporate Citizen of the Year.
Wendy Wiese of Donnybrook and formerly of KTRS-AM (550) will do the emcee duties; KMOV-TV anchor Vickie Newton is the gala’s honorary chair. Co-chairs are Janet and Larry Conners, Karen and Martin Evans and Ruth and Tim Hogenkamp. Vice-chairs are Stephanie Hampton-Boeglin, Millie Cain, Ellen and Brad Fercho, Michael Henderson, Mike and Kathy Jones, Willie and Annie Mays, John McDonald, Virginia McDowell and Ruth Smith. Roberta Cohen is the Fundraising and Corporate Support Chair and Charlotte McClure is the Auction Chair.
The Centene Corp. is the Razzle Dazzle Ball’s premiere sponsor. This is normally the point where this colyumnist includes ticket information but the Razzle Dazzle Ball people tell me the ball is sold out. They say they had hoped to sell 50 tables and finally shut it down after they sold 59.
All proceeds benefit the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery, which is an emergency shelter for children, birth through age 12, whose families are in crisis.
