MetroLink light rail stations in St. Louis County — the Big Bend, Maplewood, Central and Shrewsbury stations.
Work performed on each of the stations included elevator shaft enclosures with canopies; mechanical, electrical and plumbing services associated with the elevators; general architectural and structural work to complete the platforms; ornamental and site fencing; site furnishings; and miscellaneous specialty items.
The $7.3 million project took 292 days to complete and included 15 percent Minority Business Enterprise participation and 7 percent Women Business Enterprise participation.
“Logistics management was key to the project’s success,” said Bret Zlatnik of Walton Construction. “Construction of the entire project was bid and awarded in multiple packages to offer the greatest opportunity for local and minority participation. Coordination between the various contractors and construction packages was challenging, but the Walton team finished the project successfully.”
