St. Mary's Health Center selects architect for new hospital
August 25, 2008
ST. LOUIS, MO – St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City has selected a partnership of St. Louis-based Lawrence Group and HGA Architects & Engineers to design its new $200 million replacement hospital on Missouri Route 179 in Jefferson City, Missouri. HGA, as the design architect, will guide the visioning, exterior design, master site and facility planning activities. The Lawrence Group, known for its operational excellence, will be the lead architect on the St. Mary's project providing local management, documentation and technical development and construction services.
The full-service hospital on a 110-acre property in Jefferson City will have 167 all-private patient rooms and complementary health-related facilities. The new hospital will be about 40 percent larger than the current one it is replacing, and will be designed for future growth and expansion.
Construction of the hospital is set to begin in 2010 with expected completion in the fall of 2012. The current hospital facility will remain open until the new hospital is completed.
“It's a great partnership because we have a Missouri company who knows our health care needs combined with a national leader in health care design,” said Brent VanConia, president of St. Mary's.
