Lawrence Group principal David W. Ohlemeyer to speak at Missouri Preservation Conference

ST. LOUIS, MO – David Ohlemeyer AIA, LEED AP, one of the founding principals of St. Louis-based Lawrence Group will speak on “green” historic renovation at the “2008 Statewide Preservation Conference,” to be held at the St. Charles Convention Center on September 11th, 2008, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Ohlemeyer will discuss the “green” renovation of the historically significant Security Building in downtown St. Louis during the session “Ultimate Recycling Project – Coupling Historic with Sustainable Design Issues.” Ohlemeyer will explain the process that led to LEED Silver Certification of the Security Building, the firm’s corporate headquarters, as well as the challenges of coupling preservation with other sustainable building methods.
Missouri Preservation is a non-profit organization involved in preserving historic buildings throughout the state. The conference runs from September 10th through September 13th at the St. Charles Convention Center in St. Charles, Missouri. Ohlemeyer is a registered professional architect, a LEED™ Accredited Professional and member of AIA. He received a Bachelor of Environmental Design and Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering from the University of Kansas and has over 25 years of experience in the architectural field. He has participated in numerous speaking engagements, including the National St. Louis Brownfield Conference and USGBC Local Chapter Conference in 2004.
