Novus International Inc. Breaks Ground at Missouri Research Park
October 22, 2007

ST. CHARLES, MO – Novus International Inc. broke ground last week on their new global headquarters at the Missouri Research Park in St. Charles, Missouri. The expansion project is scheduled for completion in September 2008.

The $20 million project includes renovation of Novus’ existing 42,000-square-foot building and a 48,000-square-foot addition. The new global headquarters includes ten research laboratories, a state-of-the-art employee and customer-training center, a fitness center, library, and a coffee bar and lounge.

“We chose to relocate our headquarters to the Missouri Research Park because our current research lab and employees are stationed there, and it offered a safe and attractive community for our employees and visitors,” said Novus International Inc. Director of Business Development Don Vondriska.

Novus is applying for platinum-level LEED accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council, the highest ranking for “green” construction. The facility will feature energy efficient electrical and mechanical systems, bamboo wood flooring, bamboo-veneered doors, skylights and floor-to-ceiling windows for natural light and zero-irrigation landscaping.

“We’re excited because Novus took a long, hard look at a site in Illinois with some substantial economic incentives, and they chose to come to the Missouri Research Park,” said Rick Finholt, Missouri Research Park Executive Director.

The architect on the project is Forum Studio Inc. and the general contractor is Clayco.

The Missouri Research Park is the first business park in the St. Louis region to market exclusively to technology-intensive and research-based companies. The 200-acre research and development park, with more than 1.2 million square feet under roof, has been a catalyst for development along the Highway 40/61 high-tech corridor in St. Charles County. Today, 14 companies and three government facilities within the Park employ approximately 2,000 people. The Missouri Research Park is a project of the University of Missouri Office of Economic Development and Research Parks, whose mission is to support Missouri’s economic growth by developing and sustaining research and technology alliances among the University, government agencies and private companies.
