ST. CHARLES, MO – The Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation recently presented $7,500 to the Saint Charles Crisis Nursery for the agency’s Family Emergency Fund, which helps families in crisis obtain the basic necessities of life. Donations can help prevent homelessness, child abuse and neglect by covering a utility bill, making a down payment on an apartment, and buying prescriptions, food, diapers and other family necessities.

The Saint Charles Crisis Nursery, committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect, is an independent, not-for-profit agency that provides a short-term, safe haven for children, birth through age 12, whose families are faced with an emergency or crisis. Located at three sites in Saint Charles County, the Saint Charles Crisis Nursery serves 3,000 children a year, providing 24-hour care, 365 days a year. The Saint Charles Crisis Nursery 24-hour helpline is 636-947-0600. Celebrating its 18th year of caring for children, the Crisis Nurseries of St. Charles have been a safe haven to more than 15,000 children, and has provided support and counseling to more than 15,000 families in St. Charles county and its surrounding counties.
