Saint Louis Crisis Nursery hosts annual Razzle Dazzle Ball with Parisienne theme

ST. LOUIS, MO - Saint Louis Crisis Nursery will host its annual “Razzle Dazzle Ball 2010” dinner gala and auction with an ‘Ooh La La’ Parisienne theme on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Westport – Lakeside Chalet. The event will include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, dinner, a live auction featuring a week in Paris, a silent auction and live music with dancing.
Vickie Newton of KMOV-TV is Honorary Chair of the event. Wendy Wiese of KETC Channel 9 and a panelist on Donnybrook will be Mistress of Ceremonies.
Crisis Nursery will honor several individuals and organizations at the event through the H.U.G.S. & K.I.S.S.E.S. Awards, which recognize those who strive to improve the quality of life for local children. Each recipient will receive an award custom designed and engraved by Tiffany & Co., which sponsors the awards. Awardees include:
Daughters of Charity – “Organization of the Year” award for their generous support of the community;
Mary Beth Paytner Engler – “Woman of the Year” award for her continued service and significant contributions to the Crisis Nursery as a dedicated board member for 16 years;
David Campbell, M.D. – “Man of the Year” award for his dedication to keeping the Crisis Nursery children both safe and healthy through his medical services;
Hardee’s Food Systems Inc. – “Distinguished Corporate Citizen of the Year” award for their frequent and generous donations to the Crisis Nursery.
The annual fundraising event features lavish live and silent auctions. Travel and leisure auction opportunities include a week’s stay at an apartment in Paris, across from the Notre Dame de Paris. Other auction items include trips to Puerto Vallarta, Colorado, and Las Vegas; St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals box seat tickets; spa certificates, jewelry, fine dining, wine and more.
Don and Gretchen Gerber once again will sponsor the popular “Champagne & Diamond Extravaganza,” which gives guests the chance to win a one-carat diamond or one of many high-quality cubic zirconium. Guests can purchase a $25 champagne flute with a sparkling stone at the bottom, which is appraised by an onsite jeweler. The winner of the diamond will be announced during the event. Live entertainment will be provided by the local groups Mystic Voyage and Silk Pajamas.
Centene and Shop ‘n Save are the major sponsors of the event along with BJC Health Care, Edward Jones, GKN Aerospace, Hardee's, Mo Baptist Medical Center, Save-A-Lot, Switch, THF Realty, Monsanto, and KMOV-TV.
The Crisis Nursery fund raising chair is Roberta Cohen. Event chairs are Janet and Larry Conners, Karen and Martin Evens, and Tim and Ruth Hogenkamp and the auction Chair is Charlotte McClure.
