Students raise $3,500 in Saint Louis Crisis Nursery 5K Fun Run

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – Students from John Burroughs, MICDS and Ladue High School raised $3,500 through the third annual Saint Louis Crisis Nursery 5K Fun Run and 1.5-Mile Walk held last weekend. More than 150 runners and walkers participated in the event.
John Burroughs student Jake Simpher of Sunset Hills founded the fundraising event three years ago and has organized it annually, involving multiple high schools. The Saint Louis Crisis Nursery Young Professionals Board and Junior Board will actively grow the event in the future, with consulting support from Simpher.
Winners in various age categories included Joe Butler, Carly Galvin, Jon Felches, Audrey Imbs, Alex Holloway, Alex Senaldi, Bryan Kaemmerer, Amber Reeder, Steve Reese and Kelli Larson.
The Crisis Nursery, committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect, is an independent, not-for-profit agency that provides a short-term, safe haven for children, birth through age 12, whose families are faced with an emergency or crisis. Located at five sites throughout the greater St. Louis, St. Charles, Southern Illinois and surrounding regions, the Crisis Nursery provides care 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
