North County Churches Uniting For Racial Harmony & Justice honor Crisis Nursery North

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – The North County Churches Uniting For Racial Harmony and Justice (NCCU) recently honored Saint Louis Crisis Nursery North for promoting racial harmony and justice through their service to children and families of North St. Louis County.
Program Director Taressa Hockaday, MA, of the Central West End and Denise Wiehardt of Granite City, a Crisis Nursery family empowerment counselor, accepted the award along with their team members.
The Crisis Nursery, committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect, is an independent, not-for-profit agency that provides a short-term, safe haven for children, birth through age 12, whose families are faced with an emergency or crisis. Located at five sites throughout the greater St. Louis, St. Charles, Southern Illinois and surrounding regions, the Crisis Nursery provides care 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Celebrating its 24th year of caring for children, Crisis Nursery has been a safe haven to more than 56,000 children, and has provided support and counseling to more than 75,000 families.
