August 18, 2010
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – The Saint Louis Crisis Nursery presented its prestigious “Helping Hands Award” to Forest Park Hospital for their support of the nursery over the past 24 years. Ivory Crockett, Forest Park Hospital vice president, accepted the award at the Crisis Nursery board meeting last month.
“Forest Park Hospital was our very first partner in 1986, donating space so that Crisis Nursery could provide emergency care for children at risk of abuse and neglect. For the past 24 years, they have been a key supporter in so many ways,” said DiAnne Mueller, Crisis Nursery CEO.
“Our partnership with Forest Park Hospital helped establish Saint Louis Crisis Nursery as the premiere and largest child abuse prevention agency in the United States, and the model for crisis nurseries around the country.”
The Crisis Nursery, committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect, is an independent, not-for-profit agency that provides a short-term, safe haven for children, birth through age 12, whose families are faced with an emergency or crisis. Located at five sites throughout the greater St. Louis, St. Charles, Southern Illinois and surrounding regions, the Crisis Nursery provides care 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Celebrating its 24th year of caring for children, Crisis Nursery has been a safe haven to more than 59,000 children, and has provided support and counseling to more than 78,000 families.
