Saint Louis Crisis Nursery sponsors “Back to School Barbeque” in East St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – Saint Louis Crisis Nursery’s “Back to School Barbeque” at Christian Activity Center in East St. Louis drew more than 400 children and parents, and was attended by East St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks. The August 6 barbeque followed the Christian Activity Center’s Back To School event, which included a school supply giveaway. Lunch was provided by Save-A-Lot; other activities included music by the Jam Family DJ and a book and clothing giveaway.
The Crisis Nursery, committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect, is an independent, not-for-profit agency that provides a short-term, safe haven for children, birth through age 12, whose families are faced with an emergency or crisis. Located at five sites throughout the greater St. Louis, St. Charles, Southern Illinois and surrounding regions, the Crisis Nursery provides care 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
