Brown Elementary School Renovation and Addition Project Completed by Walton Construction St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO – Walton Construction St. Louis has completed construction on a $3.4 million Brown Elementary School project at 3325 Chickory Creek Lane in unincorporated North St. Louis County, Missouri. The Brown Elementary School project was the first of three phases in the $21.3 million “Bid Package #2” project for Hazelwood School District. The architect was TR,i Architects.
The Brown Elementary project includes the renovation of existing facilities and three new additions totaling 11,000-square-feet. New construction included a new library and a classroom wing with six classrooms. The new front entry wing features office space for administrative staff. Existing classrooms and the nurse’s station were renovated, with upgrades including new flooring, paint, cabinets and fire alarm systems.
“One of the challenging aspects of this project was managing our construction schedule around active school environments,” said Ryan Smith, Walton Construction project manager.
The construction at Brown Elementary School is one part of the three part renovation and additions project currently underway by Walton Construction St. Louis for the Hazelwood School District. The $21.3 million project also includes additions and renovations to Central High School and additions to the Learning Center, which are scheduled for completion in July 2008. Both projects are on the same site as Brown Elementary School.
Brown Elementary will hold a Grand Re-Opening ceremony on August 7 at 6 p.m.
