Tom Kaiman of Walton Construction St. Louis Named “30 Under 30”

been selected as one of just 30 young professionals in the St. Louis metro region to receive the St. Louis Business Journal’s “30 Under 30” award. The editors described the winners as the “next generation of movers and shakers.”
“There are so many amazing people under 30 contributing to our community. I am very excited and honored by their selection,” said Kaiman, 29, of Chesterfield, Missouri.
Currently Kaiman oversees multiple large commercial projects and leads the planning and preconstruction of various industrial projects. He also handles personnel issue, contract compliance, and the financial and safety oversight of current projects. Kaiman recently earned LEED AP certification.
Kaiman’s early background as a professional hockey player gave him special expertise to work on the $18.5 million St. Peters Rec-Plex Renovation and Expansion project in St. Peters, Missouri, which opened in November 2007. He also worked on the $6 million St. Louis Blues Ice Hockey Practice Facility in Hazelwood, Missouri.
Kaiman received his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan. Since joining Walton in 2003, Kaiman has developed project management protocols and reports that the firm has implemented on a national level. Kaiman also created an internal project management training program. He is a member of the National Civil Engineering Honors Society and the Associated General Contractors (AGC) and the Knights of Columbus. Kaiman recently completed Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s “Construction Spanish” program. He recently was named one of Building Design+Construction’s “40 Under 40” honorees.
