Walton Construction Adds Charitable Foundation, Scholarship
    August 18, 2008

Foundation One aims to benefit organizations nationwide, students locally

ST. LOUIS, MO – Walton Construction Company, LLC, recently announced the formation of Foundation One, the company’s new charitable division created to spread Walton’s philanthropic contributions to a national level.

“Walton’s charitable giving had grown so much that we wanted to put some corporate strength behind our giving,” said Ward Shaw, chief administrative officer and executive director for Foundation One.  “We wanted to take advantage of our size and think more on a national scale.”

Organizations selected to receive funding at the national level include Big Brothers Big Sisters and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Local organizations can apply for funding by contacting a Foundation One representative in each of Walton’s five divisions – Kansas City, Springfield, MO., St. Louis, Dallas, and New Orleans.

In addition to their charitable giving, Foundation One will administer the John May Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to a junior enrolled in the School of Construction and Industrial Management at Missouri State University.  The scholarship is named in honor of John May, the former vice president of Walton’s Springfield Division who battled lung cancer and passed away in December, 2007.

Walton Construction St. Louis is a leader in pre-construction, general contracting, design-build and construction management services, serving national and local casino, healthcare, retail, distribution centers and commercial clients.  Walton Construction is ranked 33rd among the top 50 general building contractors in the United States in 2007 by Engineering News Record and is a 2007 RCGA Greater St. Louis Top 50 award winner.  For more information, contact Judd Presley at 636-594-2220 or visit www.waltonbuilt.com.
