ST. LOUIS, MO – Walton Construction St. Louis has completed construction of Chesterfield Medical Institute, a new 20,000-square-foot medical office building and ambulatory surgical center in Chesterfield, Missouri.  The $6.8 million medical facility houses three medical practices including Laser & Dermatologic Surgery Center, West County Dermatology and Generation Dental Group.  Owners of the Chesterfield Medical Institute are Dr. George Hruza, Dr. Dan Ring and Dr. Julie Ring.

This two-story building on Chesterfield Parkway presents a dramatic presence. The structure is wrapped in hand-laid brick with limestone accents and oversized windows allow sunlight to enter throughout the building. A unique steel sunshade and decorative tubing accent the entrance canopy and elevated stair towers.

Walton completed this fast-paced project on time and on schedule.

“Open and collaborative communication among team members was imperative throughout the project,” said Craig Phillips, Walton’s assistant project manager.  “As a result, we were able to overcome several obstacles that could have adversely affected the schedule.”

Walton’s preconstruction services department conducted extensive design reviews and proposed a variety of value engineering options to control costs.  As a result of value engineering, construction documents were modified and the project cost was reduced by more than 12 percent. Walton also carefully sequenced the work to be most cost effective.

The building was designed by Feeler Scheer Architects.  The firm, led by Eddie Scheer and Steve Feeler, specializes in healthcare, laboratory design, master planning, higher education facilities, lofts and restaurants.

“We are very happy with the new facility and believe that the space will enable our practices to continue to grow,” stated Scott Radle, the Chesterfield Medical Institute administrator.

Walton Construction St. Louis is a leader in pre-construction, general contracting, design-build and construction management services.  As one of the top 15 contractors in the St. Louis area with average annual revenues over $100 million, the office serves private and federal markets including healthcare, gaming, retail, distribution-warehouse and commercial clients.
