The Missouri Gaming Association (MGA) is the statewide trade association of the Missouri casino entertainment industry and its related professionals. Formed in 1993, the association works to increase awareness of the economic benefits of gaming, publishes an annual industry report, conducts studies and funds responsible gambling programs. All eleven Missouri casinos belong to the association.
Since 1995, MGA has voluntarily donated funds for the 1-888-BETSOFF help-line, a statewide telephone crisis line and referral service to help problem gamblers. The help line is managed by Life Crisis Services and operates twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The Missouri Gaming Associaton is a charter member of the Missouri Alliance to Curb Problem Gambling which sponsors a variety of responsible gaming programs.
The Missouri Gaming Association also funds research and studies, conducts employee surveys and co-sponsors minority business fairs. Their annual Project 21 Scholarship program encourages young people to educate their peers about issues of underage gambling.
