| “I wanted to create a campus feel, an amenity-rich environment, stressing the exclusivity of the research park. We were the first park in the St. Louis area to do this.” |
| - Rick Finholt, Executive Director |
The Missouri Research Park (MRP) in St. Charles County is the first business park in the St. Louis region to market exclusively to technology and research-based companies. The Park was developed from a vision of a technology corridor along the I-64 corridor and has been the catalyst for high-tech development. Major corporations followed the trend and now cluster near the Missouri Research Park.
Owned and managed by the University of Missouri, the Missouri Research Park officially opened in 1985. Today, more than 180 acres of land in the park are developed for high-tech and research facilities, and 17 tenant companies and agencies employ 2,000 people within the park. Amenities include The Bluffs, an award-winning 235-acre golf course, and wooded recreational trails.
Rick Finholt, executive director, is a recipient of "Excellence in St. Charles Award" for developing the research park and for his vision in promoting the concept of a high-tech corridor in St. Charles County. Finholt also manages the University of Missouri Technology Park at Fort Leonard Wood.
