Voter approval of Prop A will provide more than $100 million per year in new funding to schools statewide from the gaming taxes paid by casinos. That means more than $1 billion in new funding for our schools over 10 years – without raising our property taxes or income taxes.”
    - Scott Charton, spokesman for the Prop A - Schools First Initiative Coalition

Proposition A, Schools First Initiative / www.YesForSchoolsFirst.com on the November 4th state ballot, provides additional funding for Missouri schools – and protects local jobs and our economy – by increasing the state tax that casinos pay and updating Missouri's casino regulations.

    YES ON PROP A...
    • Provides over $100 million per year in new revenues to elementary and secondary schools statewide – without increasing local property taxes.
    • Creates a secure fund for education and requires annual state audits to ensure that casino taxes are only used for schools.
    • Protects thousands of local jobs and keeps revenues here by eliminating Missouri's outdated "$500 loss limit" regulations, so Missouri can compete equally with neighboring states for casino visitors.
    • Generates millions in new funds for early childhood education, college scholarships, veterans' services, and other state and local services funded by the $2 per visitor excursion fee that casinos pay.
"Voting YES is important for our schools and for our economy. The Schools First Initiative will help us keep visitors, jobs and revenues here in Missouri.”
    - Daniel P. Mehan, president and CEO of Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry
