Mary Schanuel has created and managed marketing, public relations and media relations programs for hundreds of corporate, government and not-for-profit organizations including Kwame Building Group, Walton Construction, The Lawrence Group and Lawrence Group Colors, Ameristar Casino, Riviera Casino, the University of Missouri’s Missouri Research Park, Goodwill Industries, American Cancer Society, Rails to Trails Conservatory and the Missouri Gaming Association.
Schanuel has special expertise in “new media” communications. She developed Synergy Group’s unique online Media Center, which provides an active newsroom and enhanced online presence for every client. She also develops strategic plans, media relations campaigns, community relations, crisis communications, marketing materials and Web sites.
She has been honored by the Public Relations Society of America, APEX Communications, the American Cancer Society, Nations Bank and the Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing Association, and has served on the boards of Trailnet, the MOsaics Festival of the Arts and Woman to Woman St. Louis.
In her free time, Mary combines her love for the outdoors with travel. Her many favorites places include the mountains and beaches of North Carolina, the Sedona desert, Sanibel Island and Yosemite. Her travel "bucket list" includes a return trip to Tuscany, and tours of Ireland and Australia.
